What are possible setups for good practice with the acoustic drum set?
As with the electric drum practice environment, there are several setups that are possible. The setups shown are modular:
Basic
Comfort
Band rehearsal / Studio setup
The setups shown are modular, so you can start with the basic setup and then increase to the studio setup over time and depending on your financial scope.
Basic-Setup
The simplest setup for an acoustic set looks like this:

This is relatively simple: a good set and - very important - good hearing protection. Never rehearse without hearing protection. Man has only one set of ears. If the hearing is ruined, it's over.
I have had good experiences with this hearing protection (*):
Their advantage is that the frequencies are quite cleverly filtered and the whole thing still sounds like music.
Comfort-Setup
As your needs grow, you can then expand the setup to include the "player+headphones" elements.

In my opinion, good headphones are the be-all and end-all with which you put the playback music or the metronome or both on your ears. See also my review of various Drums-Headphones .
Band rehearsal / Studio setup
With this setup, you have a full-blown setup for band rehearsal or the studio.

The setup consists of the following elements: *)
Drumset
Digital mixer
After a long time of informing I decided to use this mixer: Soundcraft Ui24R 24 Channel Digital Mixer

Small mixer After a long time of informing I decided to buy this mixer: Behringer XENYX 302USB

Headphones After a long time of information, I decided to buy these headphones: Vic Firth SIH2

This makes professional rehearsals with the band possible. If necessary, you can also send the mixed signal from the mixer via USB to a computer with DAW, so you can record the rehearsal professionally.
